This position will assist the Manager in all aspects of accounting and reporting for Covanta's growing international business, including preparation and analysis of financial statements, general ledger maintenance and statutory reporting.
Position
Responsibilities:
Compile and analyze financial information to complete the monthly accounting close.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts to supporting documentation, investigate and resolve reconciling items timely.
Prepare, review and enter journal entries.
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
Assist with special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education:
B.S. - Accounting
Key Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including international accounting
CPA preferred
Peoplesoft or similar ERP experience; proficient Excel user
Longview experience is a plus
Proven track record for driving process efficiencies and solving problems
Strong communication skills both written and verbal, and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Detail oriented with an understanding of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
