Outstanding 1930s era chest on chest with fall front desk compartment and three drawers below. Stunning burl veneer with brass and half-sphere Bakelite pulls. This piece looks like something that would have been influenced by the designs of the 1939 World's Fair. Found in a local Bergen County Estate that belonged to a wealthy family. No makers mark, but does retain partial paper label on back that is the same as those found on pieces by Red Lion Table Co. This same company was introduced at the 1939 World's Fair. On the underside of one drawer in wax pencil: "Leib (sp?) Johnson Furniture". If you know anything about this piece, please let me know. Outstanding lines and tone to the wood. Has been thoroughly cleaned and everything in good working order. Condition: Fall front portion missing spring ball closure on left side, which causes that side to come out slightly. Wear to finish on interior. Overall condition is very good. Note that I have a matching low chest in another listing. We recommend uship.com for shipping.

1 of the tires has good tread, the other 3 have poor tread. They can be used as a "spare" tire for emergencies, or you can mount your winter tires on the rims in time for winter instead of having to pay each time you have your mechanic mounts or removes your snow tires. $30 for the wheel with good tread, $15 each for the others, or $60 for all 4....
